Social Value Canada – Get to know Practitioner Pathway Level 2
Get to know the Practitioner Pathway!
Social Value and Social Return on Investment (SROI) training gives professionals the tools to maximize the impact of their work and promote its value more effectively. Social Value International (SVI) sets standards for the use of social value tools, and Social Value Canada is the gateway to access this international accreditation for Canadians.
The SVI Practitioner Pathway has three tiers that are designed to reflect developing skills, knowledge and practice in social value. In addition, each level offers an advancement in impact management and the practical application of the SVI framework in social impact assessment and SROI.
In this newsletter we will introduce you to Level 2 of the Practitioner Pathway: Accredited Practitioner
Whether your organization is focused on maximizing impact, achieving social development goals, or addressing sustainability through ESG, now is the time to acquire the skills of social value thinking!
By joining the Professional Pathway, you will be showcasing your skills and expertise to potential clients, employers, or partners. You will also be joining an amazing community of experts who are shaping the standards and changing the way the world accounts for value.
The Social Value Accredited Practitioner is an internationally recognized qualification that demonstrates practical application of social value and impact management. It is an ideal qualification for people who are already Social Value Associates and are looking to demonstrate applied skills in social or environmental impact analysis, managing non-financial impacts, and social impact reporting. This certification can assist individuals in advancing their careers across a range of sectors.
To become a Level 2 Accredited Practitioner, you will already have a certified theoretical understanding of social value, impact management and SVI Framework for accounting for value guided by the Social Value Principles, demonstrated through your Level 1: Social Value status.
To progress to Level 2 Accredited Practitioner you will put this theoretical knowledge in to practice by undertaking a social value, or SROI analysis, and will be required to submit a report for assurance.
You are also required to have successfully completed an SVI Accredited Training course. This is a required step as it is fundamental to prepare you with the skills and knowledge to be able to undertake your social value or SROI practice.

RIDDL achieved SVI Software Accreditation – Congratulations!
Join us in celebrating Canadian-born company RIDDL who have just achieved the SVI Software Accreditation!
RIDDL is a tech start up and was built to help organizations go beyond reporting of ESGs and impact and to understand the change that has been made from an investment or initiative. RIDDL is driven to help organizations better understand through data what actually delivers positive impact outcomes and what does not, allowing for companies and organizations to funnel more resources and repeat actions that work to solve our most complex social and environmental problems.
RIDDL says they chose the SVI software accreditation process because they hold the SVI methodology in high regard, as do their customers who know about social impact measurement and it was important for RIDDL to be authenticated as following a high-quality standard. It was also important that we the company is transparent on how SROI calculations were happening and following the SVI SROI methodology meant that RIDDL had committed to a certain method and that their customers could be confident in the SROI reports.
RIDDL also says that “The SVI accreditation means that we have built a better product, that we and our customers can have confidence in, that is transparent and aligns with highly regarded standards for impact measurement. We are very proud our team hit this product milestone.” Read the whole article here.
