Sergeant Ryan Smith has been employed with the Halton Regional Police Service since 2010. During this time, he has undertaken various roles within a uniform and investigative capacity. Sergeant Smith grew up and still lives in the Region of Halton so being able to police the community he calls home is something he is very proud of. He currently oversees the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion office where he is responsible for several critical initiatives aimed at enhancing collaboration between the Police Service and the diverse community living and working in the Region of Halton. Sergeant Smith understands the value that a community oriented approach brings to a Police Service and how external partnerships can assist in addressing the complexities and challenges within policing and other public safety professions.
