Social Value Matters 2020
If you are interested in understanding the potential for social procurement to strengthen society, #SVM2020 is the place for you. What is social procurement? Social procurement adds a social value consideration to an evaluation of price, quality, and environment of the goods and services you purchase.
We’ll have several speakers on the connection between the public and private sector and social procurement, as well as social procurement in action! Tim Cummins and Louise Townsend FRSA will be speaking about the role corporations have to play in social procurement, while David Shields will be speaking about how governments can embed social value into public policy. David will also be speaking with Mayors Josie Osborne and Lisa Helps. They’ll share how they enable social procurement in smaller communities, as well as their vision for how procurement can involve Indigenous populations.
We’re grateful to have partners that are closely aligned with our social value agenda, including Buy Social Canada. Buy Social Canada advances procurement by bringing socially driven purchasers and suppliers together, building business relationships that generate social benefits across Canada.
